This Privacy Policy applies to the Price Before You Go mobile application ("App") and any related services operated by MarginTop Solutions Pvt Ltd ("we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in Nepal.
By using our App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
Information We Collect
We are committed to collecting the absolute minimum data necessary to operate the App. Here is a precise breakdown:
Data We Do NOT Collect
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Government-issued ID or passport information
- Payment information or financial data
- Precise GPS location (we only use city/region if you voluntarily select it)
- Photos, microphone, or camera data
- Contact list or device storage
- Any biometric data
Data We May Collect (Automatically)
- Anonymous device identifiers — a random, non-personal ID generated on first launch to help prevent spam reports. This is never linked to your identity.
- App usage analytics — aggregated, anonymized data about which features are used (e.g., "20 users searched for taxis today"). No individual usage is tracked.
- Crash reports — if the App crashes, we may receive a technical error log containing device model, OS version, and the stack trace. No personal information is included.
- General location region — if you choose to filter prices by city or region (e.g., "Kathmandu", "Pokhara"), this selection is used to show relevant results. We do not track your precise coordinates.
How We Use Information
The limited data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- To operate and improve the App's core features
- To display price reports relevant to your selected region
- To detect and prevent spam or fraudulent price submissions
- To fix bugs and crashes using anonymized crash logs
- To understand overall usage patterns (not individual behavior) and improve the experience
- To comply with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not use your data for targeted advertising, user profiling, behavioral analysis, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the App.
Anonymous Price Reports
A core feature of the App is the ability to submit price reports — sharing what you actually paid for a service or product. Here is how this works from a privacy perspective:
- Price reports are submitted without any login or personal information
- Reports are stored with only a random device token — never with your name, email, or identity
- You cannot be personally identified from a price report you submit
- Other users see only: the category, price, location region, approximate date, and community votes
- Once submitted, reports become part of the anonymous community dataset
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Period.
There are limited circumstances where data may be shared:
- Service providers — We use trusted technical providers (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics) who process anonymized data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements.
- Legal requirements — If required by law, court order, or government authority, we may need to disclose information. We will notify you where legally permitted.
- Business transfers — In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred. We will notify users via the App and this policy beforehand.
Data Storage & Security
We take data security seriously. Here is how we protect the limited data we hold:
- All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
- Price reports are stored on secured cloud servers with access controls
- We perform regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments
- Data is retained only as long as necessary — crash logs are purged after 90 days
- Locally cached data on your device is stored in the app's private sandbox and is never accessible to other apps
While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to using best practices.

Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights
Even though we collect very little data, you have rights over what we do hold. Depending on your jurisdiction, these may include:
- Right to access — Request a summary of any data we hold associated with your anonymous device ID.
- Right to deletion — Request deletion of your anonymous device token and any associated reports.
- Right to opt out of analytics — You can disable analytics collection in the App's settings menu.
- Right to portability — Request a copy of price reports associated with your anonymous token.
- Right to lodge a complaint — If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you may contact your local data protection authority.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will:
